Devices and sharing

Settings

Everything you write stays in this browser. These are the only ways anything leaves, and each one starts with you. The app fetches only its own files.

Your other devices

There is no account and no server holding your journal, so nothing syncs by itself. To carry it to another phone or computer, save a copy here and open that copy there.

To keep one copy you can reach from all your devices, save it into a folder that already follows you around, like iCloud Drive, Dropbox or Google Drive, and open the newest one wherever you are.

Ways a copy can leave

A locked copy Your data

In it: Your whole journal, as a file or a restore link, locked in this browser with a passphrase you choose before it goes anywhere.

Who can read it: Anyone with the copy and the passphrase. Whatever stores it, an inbox or a notes app, holds only scrambled text.

A spreadsheet Your data

In it: Your journal as plain text, for you to open in a sheet.

Who can read it: Anyone who gets the file. It is not locked.

A sealed stretch for your therapist Journal, then Bring to session

In it: A few days of your journal, sealed in this browser to the practice code they gave you, as a file or text you send them yourself.

Who can read it: Only their practice key. Whatever carries it sees a file of about its size and nothing more.

A link asking a friend for words Make a mad lib

In it: Which kinds of word to ask for (an animal, a colour, a room) and nothing else. Their link back holds only the words they typed.

Who can read it: Whatever carries the link. It travels after the # in the address, which a browser sends to no server, ours included.

A note to the maker Send a note

In it: Only what you type in that form, and a reply address if you give one, emailed to the person who made this app.

Who can read it: The maker, in their inbox. It is not locked, so keep your journal out of it unless you mean to share it.

A card a mad lib's reveal

In it: A picture of the words you gave and the animal's figure, with no part name on it.

Who can read it: Whoever you give it to.

What stays in each browser and goes nowhere: your settings (look, pace, the bell), your starred walks, and when you opened a track. A copy and your other devices carry your journal, parts and maps.

The whole account, with the host and what it sees, is on the privacy page.
